Why isn’t the line 100% organic?
We completely understand why you are asking this question, as many others like yourself wonder the same thing. So why isn’t our line 100% organic?
First let share with you that we are 100% committed to bringing you only the best that nature has to offer. We do use certified organic ingredients when available, even though this might mean increased costs to us. But sometimes there is just not an organic alternative that we can source in order to bring you the best, nourishing, products at an affordable cost to you
The best example is Hyaluronic Acid. It’s a fantastic ingredient to use in products. The body produces it. It keeps the skin plump and youthful. It makes our serums have the light consistency. The problem is that the first source of this was from an animal. The comb of a Rooster to be specific. And well… you know how important it is to me to not use animal products. Thankfully, a lab came up with a way to create this product using the fermentation of certain plants. YAY we love plants! Our Hyaluronic Acid is not certified organic, but it is a fantastic and very safe ingredient. And fun fact, its Gluten Free (if you’re curious)
It’s worth noting that each of our wild crafted, plant-derived ingredients are responsibly sourced in nature. We use a lot of certified organic ingredients but sometimes it takes a non organic ingredient that has been tested to be safe to do things like 1.) preserve the product and protect it so that yeast or mold do not grow. 2.) emulsify certain ingredients and 3.) adjust the PH of a product
We hold extremely high standards for each ingredients, organic or not, and we care deeply about establishing trust with our customers. If you ever have any specific questions about our ingredients and why we use what we use, please reach out to us. We will be happy to shed further light on them for you.
Can I use these products while pregnant?
I really think that if a product is not safe to use during pregnancy, it is not safe to use anytime. Retinol for example, If it’s not to be used during pregnancy (which is the warning seen on labels), then why is it safe other times?
There are alternative ingredients that have the same effect on your skin as Retinol, but that are not troublesome as safety experts have research.
Though, if you are pregnant and concerned about an ingredient, we certainly feel it best if you please check with your Dr.
You may have heard that certain essential oils are not recommended during pregnancy. But do you know at what amount this idea pulls from? Our research shows that this is usually at FULL strength. Our use of essential oils is very SPARING. Each of our percentage uses vary, but it’s a good rule of thumb to assume that no essential oil is used at more than a .5 % concentration. Most especially, our blends contain less than a ½ percent of any one essential oil.
Are these products safe to use every day?
Yes and we recommend you do so in order to get the best results!
How fast will I see results?
Our customers have told us that they’ve seen results “immediately” or “overnight” (I even heard the word “magic” ). Though the use of a good quality skin care products can take days to weeks to affect the skin. Of course, there are other factors as well that affect the skin. Our products are formulated to support a healthy lifestyle which in itself can lead to better skin.
What should I use on my skin during the day?
After cleansing in the morning, apply a moisturizer, an eye cream and a good non-toxic sunscreen.
I have really sensitive skin. Is this line okay for me?
These products are formulated from ingredients that are kind to the planet and waterways and kind to the skin. This is not to say that they will not irritate someone. There are individuals who are sensitive to some plants. And individuals who cannot be around some animals like cats or dogs. If you have very sensitive skin, please spot test the projects on the soft part of your underarm where the skin can be sensitive. We recommend you do this before trying any new product, from any line, before using on your face.
Is this line oil free? I worry because I have oily skin?
The line is not oil free, but oil, contrary to past myths about skincare, IS actually great for your skin (even if you have oily skin, like I do!).
In the past, we were led to believe that using oil would clog pores, potentially cause breakouts, and make our skin appear extra oily. Now, we know these claims were false. Our bodies produce oil, and the right kinds of oil on the skin can efficiently penetrate the dermis for moisturizing and nutrient-carrying benefits, to help create supple, healthy skin. The right kinds of fats not only possess some anti-inflammatory properties, they will not clog the pores either.
It is similar to fat in our diet. While it was once taboo (think the fat-free craze of the 80’s), it was discovered that good fats - like those from avocados and coconuts - are in fact beneficial to our health. Now, we know that formulating our products with beneficial plant-based oils is incredibly helpful for skin beauty as well.
We use only the highest quality plant-based oils, like Argan oil, Black Seed oil and Rose Hip oil. Argan oil has some natural sebum- regulating actions to help balance the oil on our skin, which might be beneficial to oily skin. Some oils like Shea Butter and Coconut oil, while natural and good for the body, are not recommended to apply directly to the face, as these larger molecules can be heavier and can clog or stretch the pores.
If I have dry skin is the moisturizer moisturizing enough?
Yes, our moisturizer has some amazing oils that moisturize skin without feeling too greasy. Your skin will soak it right up. If you are feeling extra dry, say you’ve changed climates or are traveling on a plane, you can always try doing 2 layers. Your skin will absorb what it needs.
Will the cleanser remove my mascara and other eye makeup?
Yes it certainly will!
How am I supposed to use the products/ what order?
We suggest the following:
Day time – Cleanser, Eye Cream, Moisturizer
Night time – Cleanser, Vitamin C Serum, Eye Cream, Moisturizer
Am I supposed to use the serum morning and evening?
We suggest you use the serum in the evening. If you really want to use it 2x a day, you certainly can, but be careful to avoid a lot of sun exposure as it may irritate the skin due to the vitamin c in the serum.
Are there any GMO ingredients?
By definition, organic ingredients are Non-GMO. We source ingredients carefully and avoid any ingredient that could be extracted from genetically modified plants.
What kind of preservatives do you use?
We use a proprietary blend of preservatives, with our goal being to protect the formula from yeast and mold and extend it’s shelf life by keeping the oils formalized.
You may have heard of the term parabens before. Did you know that one of the reasons that parabens were so popular is that they were super effective and super inexpensive? Unfortunately they are now being linked to be hormone disruptors. So you won’t find any parabens in our products. We source just the right ingredients that are known to cause no harm.
Our preservatives contains the following plant-based ingredients:
Fermented Radish Root, Honeysuckle Extract, Aspen Bark, Potassium Sorbate, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate. We also use a non-gmo soy based tocopherol.
